The original version of this song contains no electric bass just synth bass. When I play a bass line that was written with synth bass, I feel that I learn a lot cause it got a completely different approach than electric bass. Some of it I’ve incorporated into my style over the years. It’s not like that with this song, but it sure has a great groove. If I’d take a guess the bass part in this might be written on an electric bass and then played synth bass. I’m not sure but it’s a guess.

I understand why this song became a hit and if you listen to it, it’s still great and holds up better than anything contemporary today in my opinion.
