Filmed on 05/12/2016. After spending the day in Hull, it was time to be heading home. Here is a scenic train ride from Bridlington to Scarborough via Filey and Seamer (Season 3 Episode 86).

158816 forms the working of 2W28, 14:44 Hull to Scarborough. The train calls at: Cottingham, Beverley, Hutton Canswick, Driffield, Nafferton, Bridlington, Bempton, Hummanby, Filey, Seamer and Scarborough.

After a crew change at Hull, the driver of 158816 was 'thrash happy' to say the least as he was giving it the almighty beans and mega thrash on full power. 158816 was making some unusal noises whilst on the journey home so not sure what was wrong. Noticed the back door leading from the aisle to the door wouldn't close so it was more colder than it should be on this service.

For those who are mega class 158 fans, the Yorkshire Coast Route is the one for you linking between Scarborough and Hull. There are some class 150 sprinters and sometimes the pacers but its a rarity to see. On Sundays, the 153's will make an appearance to Scarborough making a 3 coach formation to Sheffield. The trains between Scarborough and Bridlington is up to every 90 minutes and two hour services. This is because train services operates to Sheffield (Semi fast), Doncaster and Hull (Local Stopping).

The class 158's has about 2 to 3 years left on this line as the new trains will be making an appearance. With new timetables coming along with proposed new frequent hourly services to and from Scarborough heading to Hull. Once the pacers have been taken out of service and to assist with the class 156 sprinters, the 158's will be transferred to the north east which will hopefully be working services around: Newcastle, Hexham, Middlesbrough, Saltburn, Whitby, Darlington, Carlisle and Bishop Auckland. Lets hope these changes will make things for the better and Arriva Rail North keeps their promise.

There will be fast 'Northern Connect' to Leeds via Hull. Northern Connect will be working alongside First Transpennine Express to reduce the overcrowded trains to Manchester Piccadilly. At the moment and once the new services are in action, we are not 100% sure if the trains will be continuing to Sheffield via Meadowhall.
