Guskou Budori no Denki (1994) [360p Quality] [C/C For Subtitles]

The story follows the life of a young boy named Guskou who lives in the countryside with his parents and little sister. A string of droughts and other natural disasters tear the family apart, and Guskou is forced to leave home and seek fortune on his own. Driven by a desire to improve the quality of life of his poor countrymen, he eventually joins a group of scientists in the Ihatovo Volcano Department, and from there takes part in scientific projects to fight the natural disasters that drove him from his home.

Status: Least concern. The image quality could be crisper, but it is serviceable enough. I would reupload the movie if it's available in higher resolution, but it's not a big priority for now. Audio quality is fair.

Based on the fictional biography of Guskou Budori from Miyazawa Kenji. Since there is an alternative take of with cat characters released in 2012, I saw fit to indicate in the title which timeline this one belongs to. The only known rip of this movie is 8 years old, and then called for an emergency archival. This movie was directed by Ryuutaro Nakamura, the director of Serial Experiment Lain and Kino's Journey, no less!
