High upon this mountain...
Looking down upon the world,
I see cut-throats stealing favors
And sick sweet pirates baiting hooks,
As I have held this flame forever
Before thought or word or book,
Watching for some pure redeemer
That proves the cost was less than what it's worth ;

A pale horseman I ride...
Seeing through too often jaded eyes,
Gnashing teeth and bated breath
With bitter curses and whispers of spite
Will I ever find...it ;

Deep within this valley
Looking up into the faces
Of the crucified who fought against the night
And the oft defiled laid waste in this life,
Like Diogenes with his lamp
A tired and weary thousand years gone by
These bones beg for rest
Have I done my best against the darkening of the light ;

Sleeping soldier I cry...
To pass through the veil into a painless sky
Curse this journey unfinished
Of passing this torch so heavy on my mind
I must find...it ;

I need just one true believer to rise
Against the ruthless users and deceivers,
To burden the load of keeping the faith held high
Above the seas of blood and broken dreamers
Of walking all alone into that empty night ;

Just one true believer
To carry the stone and the weight of this world's last light
Through the weeping rain of the cries of eternal grievers
You must survive...and rise again
To resurrect the hope and keep this love alive ;

From the deepest valley to the highest peaks
Tell me have you seen that of which I seek,
Before you stab me in this hungry heart
Can you show me where hides that long lost spark...
Of trust and peace in the life you live
The blood you spill or the pain you give,
A flicker beats but the flame burns out
The dying whisper or the fatal shout
The time is short and the debt is long
The faith is weak and the promise is...gone ;

At the end of the day
I lay my head upon the weeping stone,
To close my eyes and lay down this burden
Rest all troubles and bring them home,

When it softly whispers just out of my view
It says...are you lonely?
It says...can I help you now?

My eyes wide open...embrace the truth
