Corrag, the Witch of Glencoe

Описание к видео Corrag, the Witch of Glencoe

A traditional tale of a wise woman, or witch, from the Highlands of Scotland.
The Massacre of Glencoe occured on February 13th 1692.
The MacDonalds of Glencoe were one of several Clans whose chiefs had missed a deadline to swear an oath of allegiance required by the new monarchs William III and Mary II. They were selected to be made an example of by the government, possibly because they were predominantly Catholic or because they were regarded as particularly fond of the raiding and feuding that was a feature of the area at that time
The massacre was particularly shocking because it broke the rules of hospitality. The soldiers who carried out the killings were guests of the MacDonalds at the time.
