The Walls of Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh has been Scotland's capital since 1437. It began as an Iron Age fort on the top of Castle Rock. As it expanded various different defences were built around it.
The Kings Wall was built in the 1450s and the Flodden Wall from the 1510s through to 1560s.

People have lived in the area that is now Edinburgh since the Bronze Age. The city got it's charter from David I in 1124. #Edinburgh900
