After a two year process of rebuilding the boiler, "Eli" returned to public operations once again. It was an awesome (but hot) day to watch it's first public run after over two years.

Worlds of Fun Railroad 33 was built in 1973 by Crown Metal Products of Pennsylvania for the railroad it still serves today. WOFRR 33 was named "Eli" in honor of the fast CB&Q freight service that began in 1888, being named after a famous Chillicothe racehorse for its speed. When the WOFRR was started in 1973, "Eli" was painted in a green color in honor of Burlington Northern, which was the first corporate sponsor of the new railroad. "Eli" still wears a similar green color to when it was first built and continues to serve the Worlds of Fun Railroad as its sole operating locomotive as of 2021. "Eli" is a narrow gauge replica of the iconic 4-4-0 steam locomotives of the late 19th century and burns propane as its primary fuel source.
