Dr Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna’s contribution to Carnatic music in general, and sustaining its appeal to the larger audiences without any compromise in particular will be long remembered and cherished.

The least of the reasons for that will be his most innovative and highly endearing Bhakti Ranjani. It was the radio program, that he conceived and formatted on the simple premise—wake up daily to a new day with a sense of devotion through music that enthrals. As is already known, he started it at AIR, Vijayawada first. And for this he picked up a number of compositions of various composers, tuned many of them, rendered them by himself or others, and as a group too.
