Building a programming cable for the Motorola GM350 and attempting to program the radio

Описание к видео Building a programming cable for the Motorola GM350 and attempting to program the radio

In this video I build a programmer for my Motorola GM350 using an offcut of ethernet cable, a USB to TTL adaptor from Amazon and a 1N4148 diode as per the circuit by George Smart M1GEO.

After the build I plug the completed interface into my desktop computer and the GM350, and using Virtualbox running Windows 3.1 (the Motorola GM350 RSS is ancient) I attempted to read the radio, change the abnormal frequency then write to the radio again, question is was I successful?

The schematic for this is available at: https://www.george-smart.co.uk/scrapb...

The USB to TTL device I used is here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0753GY7F...
For this programmer you will need a mini-USB cable, I had one that shipped with my Yaesu FT2D that is pretty decent, I strongly advise against a cheap cable

The diodes are these ones (but you can get 1N4148 diodes from any electronics seller):https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08TYC1ZR...
