Ananda and Shailendra, aged 31 and 29 from Bangalore, Karnataka, were IT engineers who ventured into farming, intrigued by the rising demand for capsicums. After extensive research on varying soil textures and climates every 200-300 km, they developed ‘Fasal’, an IoT-led device with remote sensors to monitor crop, soil, and weather conditions. Utilizing AI, IoT, and predictive analytics, Fasal delivers actionable insights, helping reduce crop damage, control diseases, and improve yield and quality. Initially convincing only 50 farmers in 2018, their startup experienced rapid growth, expanding to 500 farms and 5,000 acres in 2019, and targeting 1,000 farms and 20,000 acres by FY21.
