#18 Analysis of Nicky Ryan’s wrestling

Wrestling is becoming more of an interest for Jiu Jitsu competitors, particularly noGi grapplers. Nicky Ryan is a world class Jiu Jitsu competitor and has recently been receiving a lot of attention on his wrestling ability. Here, I analyze his wrestling. Before anyone freaks out, this is literally one of my best skill sets. I was a high level wrestler myself and as a wrestling coach, I believe my strength was being able to find weaknesses in opponents on the fly and coach my athletes to exploit those weaknesses and score. I coached many high level wrestlers, several of whom went on to win state titles, compete on a national level, and obtain collegiate wrestling scholarships.
