Aboard Paddle Steamer Waverley

Come with me aboard the fantastic Waverley - the World’s last sea-going paddle steamer - on a special Pier of the Year Celebration cruise from Southend to the Thames Forts and Knock John from Southend.
As photographer for the NPS and PSPS I was given special access - as can be enjoyed in this video.
So you can savour the steam triple expansion engines at work, with their magnificent hypnotic rhythm, I’ve included 4 sequences to show them from different angles.
I’ve chosen 1minute sections deliberately, so you, the viewer, can take in and appreciate the special charm of this wonderful ship, as well as observing the Thames Forts as we sail by.
