Jesus gathered his core 12 disciples and commissioned them as "apostles" to carry his good news to the people of Israel. In the scriptures referenced today Jesus grants them immense power to heal the sick, cast out demons and work all manner of miracles in His name. He also tells them to stay a while work as he instructed, but if they are rejected to leave and dust off their feet and move on. The work of making people believe the good news is not ours, it is the Holy Spirit. We do not have that burden. We can rest in him that we just proclaim the good news, and he handles the outcome.
