A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO COLORING | 3. Shadows, Highlights, and Creating a 3D Effect | Adult Colouring

Hi guys!

Here is video 3 of the beginner’s guide series – How to use shadows and highlights to create a 3D effect to your pages. The book I am colouring in is Mythographic Paradise by Fabiana Attanasio (sorry I should have mentioned it in the video!).

In the video, I will share tips on how I carry out my shading and how I create my shadows and maintain highlights, and hopefully show how to create a 3D effect to your colouring pages. I will complete all my pencil work in this part of the series.

Many of you have been asking questions regarding the process of colouring, from start to finish! From how to pick out a page, to choosing colours, shading, creating a 3D effect and finishing off the page with embellishments. I have been avoiding doing these videos for a while as I am self-taught and don’t think I have much theory behind what I do when it comes to colouring – I just colour and have fun doing it!

But I thought it is about time I took on the challenge and at least share with you all my process of colouring from start to finish!
