PEARL Reference Series in 'Ivory Pearl' 13 16 22 Soundcheck by Bryan Macaranas

Having recorded the kit within a 'play through', now it's time to record the drums by themselves. I wanted to be able to check the tones out of these Pearl Reference shells, and perhaps check out the nuances, ideal tuning, and response to tweaks and playing style. I can truly understand why the Reference Series is a fave by most Pearl players. It's so 'woody' in character, end definitely a good balance of warmth and projection. Killer sounding drums. The 16x16 floor tom needed a bit of taming down; so much boom!
