In this video I'll be doing my best to explain to you how to find the center of bend for any angle. Also i'll speak a lot about the developed length which is a product of center of bend and is vital to other calculations. This is the second video of a series of video's that I will put out on A more detailed method of calculating conduit bends. In ever book that i've read the developed length is used for segment bends. But as you will see it can be used for any bend and will assist you in finding the center of your bend. When using mechanical and hydraulic, some times even hand benders it's useful to know the center of your bend so that you can place your bend in an exact location on your conduit. Also think about the time you hand remove the pipe from the bender to make the second bend on an offset. Yes there are ways to get around that, but I can show you how to calculated it so that you can use the Push through method to bending conduit. Push through meaning not removing the conduit from the bender in order to complete all of your bends instead you could use just bend the first mark and slide the conduit down to the next mark and commence to bending the second mark, and so forth.
