For the 100th anniversary of NOSFERATU I review the two best editions of the film available. The Region B releases from Eureka Masters of Cinema and the BFI are both excellent presentations and derived from different restorations. Each restoration has different approaches and scores. I think both are important and vital to have for any film library. They present the classic genre defining work directed by F.W. Murnau in the best possible quality to date with rewarding supplemental features.
To all USA viewers, the Kino Lorber release while from the same restoration found on the MoC release unfortunately suffers an encoding flaw which causes many frames to be dropped resulting in a jerky motion and a significant portion of the film is lost. It should be avoided. This is one of the many films you go region free for.
