Mega Man 3 (NES) - Top Man Theme (All Instrument Cover)

Here's another tune from 1990's Mega Man 3 on the NES, it's the Top Man theme. This is a relatively straightforward but rocking tune that features some bluesy chromatic notes in the intro and turnaround and a somewhat unusual harmony of the first riff after the intro. The main verse part has a nice call and response between the two melody parts which is clever in spite of its melodic simplicity. Basically, just a cool tune!
For tracking, I played the main melodies on guitar and bass, but added some keyboard parts. A contrabass was added to accentuate the low end, and in the second half of the song, added a vocal keyboard patch to add a third to imply a chord progression. I also added a synth lead in the verse section to accentuate the main call and response melodies as one part. For the drums, I took my usual approach of trying to till out the skeleton percussion arrangement of the original part, and build it up as the song progresses.

Overall, a fun tune to put together, and for a Mega Man soundtrack, I was pleased I was able to keep the tempo at the original's!
