★Nara Park
Nara Park is a vast park with a total area of about 660 hectares, dotted with many historical buildings.
It is one of Japan's leading tourist destinations.
The ancient capital of Nara has a long history, and when you think about its 1,300 years of history, you can feel the romance.
Located at the center of the park, it is like a garden for many shrines and temples, such as Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

The deer, which are popular with foreigners, are also carefully protected as messengers of the gods of Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

However, these deer are actually wild. There is a facility called "Rokuen," but it is only a temporary protection facility.
So, the deer in Nara are rare in Japan in that they live close to humans. In order for deer and humans to live together in harmony forever, humans need to be considerate.

In Nara Park, they sell food called "shika senbei," which is a snack. The deer in Nara Park are wild animals, so of course they find their own food.

★Kofuku-ji Temple.
This temple is home to the five-story pagoda, a symbol of Nara.
(Unfortunately, it is currently undergoing restoration work and cannot be viewed.)
However, the temple is home to many Buddhist statues, and the National Treasure Museum is worth a visit.
(Photography was prohibited, so there is no footage.)
When you visit Nara, be sure to stop by.

★Todaiji Temple's Great Buddha Hall.
As its name suggests, this is the hall where the Great Buddha of Nara is enshrined.
Everything here is so grand in scale that it is overwhelming.
(Currently, it is one of the largest wooden structures in the world. Width: 57.5m, Depth: 50.5m, Height: 49.1m)
The Great Buddha of Nara is also one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world.
(Height (sitting height): 14.98m, Head size: 5.33m, Palm: 2.56m, Ear length: 2.54m, Diameter of the hairpins (head bumps): 22cm)
The Great Buddha Hall's "pillar passage".
There is a hole in one of the pillars of the Great Buddha Hall, and it is said that if you can pass through this hole, you will be blessed with blessings such as "staying healthy" and "becoming smarter."
(The real reason is said to be to ward off evil spirits.)
The size of the hole in the pillar is 30cm wide and 37cm long, which is the same size as the Great Buddha's nostrils.

★Todaiji Temple's Nigatsudo Hall.
It got its name from the fact that an event called Shunie is held there in February.
In Japanese, February is called "nigatsu."
TemplNigatsudo Hall is built on a slope using the same architectural method as Kiyomizu-dera e in Kyoto.
As there are no mountains or tall buildings nearby, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the cityscape of Nara and all the way to Mt. Ikoma.

★Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine is lined with a total of about 3,000 stone lanterns and hanging lanterns.
It creates a fantastical scene.
In addition to the main shrine, Kasuga Taisha Shrine also has a vast area of land, with the total area including Kasugayama Primeval Forest covering 112,000 m2. This is equivalent to 22 Tokyo Dome baseball stadiums.

★Yakushiji Temple.
A magnificent temple built in the Ryugu-zukuri style.
The sight of the eastern and western towers, flanking the main hall in the center, is magnificent.
And although it looks like a six-story tower, it is actually a three-story tower, and the roofs on the even-numbered levels counting from the top are not the official roofs but decorations called mokoshi.
