Chilled to Perfection: Carton Flow Rack Optimizes Tumbler Fulfillment

Who doesn’t love a perfectly chilled beverage? With all the styles and shapes of insulated tumblers out there, it can pose a challenge to get the right style, size, and color picked to the right order --that’s where Dyna-Deck drops in… and we mean that literally. Dyna-Deck carton flow rack drops into your rack bay to replace inferior, broken, and worn carton flow rails, giving your team the right tool to get the job done.

The fact is misaligned, and damaged flow racking not only slows your order pickers down but can also create pick accuracy headaches. Not so with Dyna-Deck, and here’s why. Dyna-Deck creates a full-wheeled surface, allowing you to create SKU lanes of any width across the entire storage bed. Those SKU lanes make it easy to maximize storage capacity and still differentiate items.

Take A Look At Dyna-Flow In Action

Tumbler, cooler, shaker? Your inventory may vary, but your solution remains the same --Dyna-Deck carton flow rack.

Lane Design Criteria
*Dyna-Deck carton flow rack
*Pitch - 1.5” per foot
*Wheel centers - 1”
*16” wide tracks (6 tracks = 96” bay)
*Slim-Fit Carton Flow Entry Guide
*Lightweight inventory 1-2 lb. per box
*Box size varies

What Did We Learn?
1. Prevent the Tumblers from Tumbling
This is a great example of why you should test your inventory before finalizing your order. What we discovered is that the boxes are top-heavy but overall lightweight. These items will likely tip over and fall from the shelf in a pitched carton flow rack. The simplest solution is to lay them down. Again, you have a full wheel bed to create as many deep lanes as you need to satisfy your order-picking volume. Full-length guides are another option but do add to the overall system cost.

2. Quickly Create SKU Lanes
Snap-on entry guides are a cost-effective and easy way to designate SKU lanes. They can be easily grasped and attached and are sturdy enough to withstand a few bumps along the way.

Dyna-Deck Carton Flow Rack
---Retrofits existing flow-racking
---Fits a range of carton or tote sizes
---Larger, more durable wheels & assembly than competitor products
---Choose 1″, 2″ or 3″ roller centers

Snap On Entry Guides
---100% adjustable
---Quickly attach for fast slotting & reprofiling
---Improve pick accuracy
---Maximize SKU lane space

Gravity Flow Test Results

This system design received Passing Grades from our in-house testing lab. The differently-sized and weighted boxes all showed very similar positive flow results. During the unloading process, we observed that each box restarted independently and indexed down the lane to the pick aisle.
