I explain what Contrast and Complex training is and also how to get the best out of it.
Basically complex and contrast training combines weights and plyo exercises (in the main but not exclusively) to increase power and speed outputs. This works on the neuromuscular level. Please see the following video for more information too    • HOW TO IMMEDIATELY JUMP FURTHER & SPR...  ),
In the first part of the video we look at potentiation - this is the desired outcome of Complex & Contrast training. (Potentiation is that increased neuromuscular response I referred to),
We then go through just what Complex and Contrast methods are. Basically they are different ways of combining weights and plyos into a workout.
I explain how I incorporate this type of training into our workouts and why I think you should.
I also provide some examples of research which indicates that potentiating training works but that there are some considerations i.e. certain potentiating means may suit stronger athletes and be better choices than others e.g. plyometrics.
