Episode 28: We meet.. Clara Direz

In the latest episode of the Skiing is Believing podcast we chatted with French Giant Slalom star, Clara Direz
She shared her incredible story from growing up in the French Alps with parents who were always heavily involved in skiing and ski racing. Her father even worked very closely with Dynastar, the company that Direz has trusted throughout her professional career.
The 2023/24 season was Clara’s best on the FIS World Cup circuit with consistent top Giant Slalom results but prior to this success she had become a WC winner in Sestriere back in 2020. Having beaten the great Mikaela Shiffrin in the last sixteen, Clara was seen as an outside shout for her 1st WC podium. Clara ended up winning the race for her maiden podium/win.
She also told Matt and Alan about how she feels she is stepping into a senior role, one that Clara is happy to take if she can help young French racers develop into top quality World Cup athletes one day.
