Welcome to The Sunday Camper my all new adventure channel! I've always dreamed of a life on the road and while full time van life may not currently be an option I realised I don't need to wait until the boys are finished school to start my dream life, I can head out on short road trips away with Freddie every other week using the resources I have available right here and now. We are never guaranteed a tomorrow so stop putting off the things you would love to do 'someday' and make that some day today!

If you enjoyed this video please leave a like and consider subscribing - it's totally free and helps the channel out so much! If you REALLY liked this video and want to support the channel leave a super thanks (next to the like button) - I'm saving to buy an EcoFlow power station so we can take longer trips and be as self-contained as possible!

Howdy campers (cringe I know) in today's video I am sharing with you my basic budget no build no spend car camper conversion of my Toyota Rav 4 SUV. While I probably prefer tent camping - (mainly for the extra room) I also love the options car camping allows especially for shorter getaways OR road trips where you may be only staying a night in each location on your way! Camping in a tent is awesome, but there's LOADS involved with packing, set up, pack up, clean up etc etc so having a mobile home on wheels is a GREAT addition to really expand my travel plans!
Yu really don't need a lot to get started with car camping adventures...here are the basics for a quick getaway -
1. A vehicle!
2. Matress or padding to sleep on with a pillow & sleeping bag or blankets.
3.Food & Drinks + something to cook with if required.
4. Lighting
.... besides your sense of adventure and good attitude, that's pretty much it for the basics!
Extras include -
5. Chairs & Table
6. Tarp or awning
7. Firepit/BBQ (lots of campsites have firepits - some make you byo)
What else is on our list of essentials required for car camping? I always make sure I look up the closest after-hours animal emergency/vet when we go away just to be on the safe side & have a basic first aid kit and fire extinguisher but these are in my vehicle all the time so they are not specific to car camping :)

Hope you enjoy sharing our travel adventures and learn a few tips and tricks along the way to make your camping set up more organised, clean and stress fress so you can relax and really enjoy your time outdoors as much as possible!
