The dancing body of Manu Master (Originally Abdul Manaf) is indeed a great metaphor in the poetics of dance.. a body that fluidly defies the gender and racial stereotypes in Bharatanatyam. In a social context, his treatment of dancing body through bhanga-bhangis have been widely discussed as radically transgressive. The identity and politics of Manu Master's dance is indeed a discursive counter-attack against the hegemonic racist system that the Indian classical dance has been habituated to. This musical piece, is from the film "Manwantaram", a film that marks Manu Master's journey as a dancer. In the context of 61st birth year of Kerala, WMF with Bodhi silent Scape brings out Manumalayalam, an audio visual snippet that features Manu Master and his fluid body that exudes the beauty of Malayalam.
