Primordial Series | MAMMON | Speedpaint

The sixth piece for my Primordial art series, focusing on scale and creature designs.

For this piece, I wanted to create a composition where the bird is more prevalent to make a clearer story on who we're following. I positioned the creature towards the bottom left to make it blend in a little bit more with the background and the clouds. I used darker and slightly more saturated colours to create a stronger focal point for the bird by making the colours contrast more heavily against the bird's white colour. I'm quite happy at how this turned out, although I think I could've played on the scale a little more as I wanted this creature to be fairly big, but the final image looks like it could be the smallest one out of the rest of the series when compared to the bird. It's been quite a struggle for me to create a good balance of sizes for this series. I wanted to make the bird more prevalent and detailed as the series goes on, but at the same time, the creatures should remain big or have the illusion that it's bigger than the bird. So it's been very tricky to figure out with this goal in mind. The last painting will have quite a few tries before I'm happy with it, I imagine.
