We've talked about it and teased it in past videos but it's finally time to officially introduce the 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport to all of you. Unfortunately this isn't EXACTLY how we would like to start this series of this car... with it sitting on the side of the road overheated after the 4 hour round trip to Pontiac Nationals and back!

So what we have here is a pretty original 71 LeMans Sport, from the factory it was a Pontiac 350 2 barrel car. A few years back to give it a bit more guts that original carb and intake were swapped out for an Edelbrock 4 barrel Performer Intake Manifold and carburetor. At the same time we also swapped out the factory original exhaust manifolds for a set of long tube headers, as is pretty typical on these cars. Oh, and just to make it a BIT louder we also did a set of QTP electronic cut outs to allow obnoxious leaves of sound when we want it but quiet it down through the factory style exhaust when we don't.

Now to address the elephant in the room, or the muscle car on the side of the road in this case, after years and years of driving this car has finally decided to give us a cooling problem. Previously it would run rock steady at 205 degrees all day every day without issue. During the back and forth driving to Good Guys Nationals it had started to creep up into the 220-230 degree range. Unfortunately we couldn't see any evidence of coolant leaks but it was clearly a bit low once we inspected it. However NOW... it's certainly low and as you'll see in the video temps got a BIG higher than 230 degrees!

Though this car will NOT be going through a full "Project car" build it will be seeing some attention and returning back to even more stock. The factory radiator will be rebuilt, the exhaust manifolds will go back on, and we MIGHT remove the cutouts because they aren't really necessary anymore. Now that the 70 LeMans is done and MUCH more rowdy we can use that one for making muscle car sounds.

Lucore Automotive is a small independent American small business located just outside Columbus Ohio. While we are a full service shop that maintains and repairs countless daily drivers we are also well known for our work on classics, race cars, and collector cars.

We would like to thank all of our friends, fans, follower, supporters, subscribers, and most importantly customers for being here with us! Without the wonderful people who let us work on their toys, and help their dreams come true we wouldn't be in business.
