Há muito que queria voltar ao Alentejo. É uma terra que me diz muito, calma e vagarosa como se o tempo aqui fosse mais devagar. No inverno, o Alentejo abranda ainda mais, como se confirmasse que a pressa nunca foi coisa sua. A chuva chega sem violência, infiltra-se na terra com respeito e transforma a planície num mosaico de verdes profundos. Os campos, antes secos e abertos, ganham peso e densidade, respiram melhor. Há um cheiro a terra molhada que fica no ar e entra nas casas, misturado com lenha queimada e café acabado de fazer.
As manhãs nascem muitas vezes envoltas em nevoeiro. As aldeias parecem suspensas, como se estivessem à espera de ser acordadas. As ruas ficam quase vazias, mas não tristes, apenas recolhidas. O frio não fere, só pede um casaco mais grosso, uma mesa posta mais cedo, uma conversa que se alonga sem olhar ao relógio.
No inverno, o Alentejo vive para dentro. As lareiras tornam-se centros do mundo, a comida é mais lenta e mais funda, e as palavras ganham espaço. Fala-se do tempo, das colheitas, do que já foi e do que há de vir, sempre com a calma de quem sabe que tudo tem o seu ritmo.
Quando a tarde cai, o céu escurece cedo e o silêncio instala-se com naturalidade. Não pesa. Acolhe. O inverno no Alentejo não é ausência, é pausa. Um tempo de espera fértil, em que a terra descansa e as pessoas também.

I've wanted to return to Alentejo for a long time. It's a land that means a lot to me, calm and slow-paced, as if time here moves slower. In winter, Alentejo slows down even more, as if confirming that haste has never been its thing. The rain arrives without violence, seeps into the earth respectfully, and transforms the plain into a mosaic of deep greens. The fields, once dry and open, gain weight and density, breathe better. There's a smell of wet earth that lingers in the air and enters the houses, mixed with burning wood and freshly brewed coffee.
Mornings often dawn shrouded in mist. The villages seem suspended, as if waiting to be awakened. The streets are almost empty, but not sad, just withdrawn. The cold doesn't hurt, it just calls for a thicker coat, a table set earlier, a conversation that stretches on without looking at the clock.
In winter, Sergipe lives inwards. Fireplaces become centers of the world, the food is slower and deeper, and words gain space. We talk about time, harvests, what has been and what is to come, always with the calm of someone who knows that everything has its own rhythm.
When the afternoon falls, the sky darkens early and silence settles in naturally. It doesn't weigh you down. It welcomes you. Winter in Acre is not absence, it's a pause. A time of fertile waiting, in which the land rests and the people do too.
