The Dirt Devil M082500 Breeze is an inexpensive lightweight canister vacuum cleaner. We ran this vacuum through a number of tests to see how it performed, and who it would be right for.

First we tested this vacuum on carpeting, although this vacuum isn't specifically designed for this surface. This vacuum doesn't have a rotating brush bar. You can use any attachment, but recognize, it won't lift pet hair off the ground very good, nor will it get the dirt and dust deep in the carpet fibers.

That being said it cleaned off the flour we tossed on the floor, and it pushed around the larger particles. The suction power is weak, so not much is lifted up out of longer carpets.

On hard floors, the vacuum didn't do a great job either. The small particles were pushed back or forward by the rollers on the head of the vacuum. It also has a very narrow cleaning path, so not much fits under the vacuum for being sucked up.

On the bright side, the Dirt Devil Breeze vacuum does get under furniture easily, and it has a long reach with the hose and extension wand.

We like this canister for cleaning stairs. It fits on the stairs easily, and it is lightweight at just over 11 pounds total. The handle on top is nice for carrying it, and it comes with a strap to carry the vacuum on your shoulder.

Maintenance is brutal. The filter gets all jammed up with dust and debris. It is easy to empty the dust out of the dust bin, but getting the dust out of the filter is annoying to say the least.

You get what you pay for with the Dirt Devil Breeze canister vac. It's a cheap vacuum that is noisy, doesn't have much suction, and is messy to maintain. We only recommend this if you like canisters and you have a very tight budget.
