Blacksmithing: Creating Forged Cattails Sculpture

If you like blacksmithing, you'll enjoy seeing the process for this forged cattails sculpture. The metal cattails are accompanied by hand forged angle iron leaves, shown in my previous video.

Being an artist blacksmith is a lot of fun, and allows me a wide range of expression in my artwork. I've been a metal artist since 2008. I created hand forged sculpture in different styles, but mainly organic forms. This particular metal cattails sculpture had been planned for a while, and I finally just gave it a go. I've seen a some other types of metal cattail art, but there isn't much in the way of videos on forging cattails on YouTube.

These leaves are great for use in metal cattails or forged flowers. Besides making a metal cattails sculpture, you could even make metal cattail art centerpiece or wall sconce. These forged cattails are fun to make, and they are a very neat effect.
