Review: Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend

Category
Blended Scotch

Age Statement
None.

ABV
46%

Format
700 ml

Price
Very reasonable

Distribution
Supposedly limited release but they keep 'releasing' it every year. I think you will have to look a bit to find it, but you will likely be successful.

Closure
Metal cap.

Nose (undiluted)
It's floral, but you definitely can tell this is a blended Scotch. Not sophisticated but not offensive. I pick up a grain driven sweetness, but at the same time there is a damp earth and leaves quality. Wood and peaches.

Palate (undiluted)
Orange rinds, grapefruit, white oak, citrus notes, spicy marmalade, a wee bit spirity due to the young whiskies, bitter mint leaves, camphor and wild honey.

Finish (undiluted)
Drying, tingling note of menthol, something medicinal and heated.

General Impressions
For the very affordable price, you can't go wrong and worth a try. 46% ABV in a blend is not common and makes it all the more worthwhile.

See the video for more details.

Best,

Jason Debly
