Today I felt like a little change from my usual circuits and headed west into Wales. The Ceiriog valley is a stunning place to cycle. The road is virtually traffic free, and it more or less hugs the river Ceiriog all the way up the valley. After you get past Glyn Ceiriog the scenery starts to get a little more dramatic and picturesque, and there's a few hills to tackle (but nothing major)
It felt like hard going today heading out to Llanarmon as the wind was blowing quite strong. That combined with the gentle climbs soon scrubbed the speed down.
It was worth it though, as the scenery is breathtaking, and once in the sleepy village of Llanarmon it was time for a quick stop before heading back.
The return journey was a different affair. A good tail wind and long down hill stretches soon got me up to speed.
The last 3 days I've managed 107 miles "all in all" and I'm quite pleased with that. Today's 40 mile ride was hard going but still enjoyable none the less.
