Описание к видео How i make pickles 🥒 | Recipe included 📑

Let's make pickles together! Third time's the charm, like they say. My first two patches of pickles turned sour for some unknown reason, but i neeeed pickles for the winter so let's give it another go. And so far the fresh patch of pickles is doing good in my pantry.

Leave the cucumbers in cold water for a few hours, then wash. Slice them how you like, or don't slice at all. Take your washed and heated jars and add: (per jar) (you can add more per your taste)
1 blackcurrant leaf
~2 sliced garlic gloves
~1 tsp of white mustard seeds
~6 black peppercorns
1-2 dill flowers

Slice the cucumbers as you like or don't slice at all. Fill the jars properly.

Now let's make brine. (and can start heating the water in a big pot for heating the filled jars later, add a cloth to the bottom for extra comfort for the jars)

Brine recipe:
Per 1l of water you'll need
1tbsp of sugar
2tbsp of salt
2 tbsp of vinegar

When water rises to boil ad sugar, mix, add salt and mix until dissolved. Then add vinegar, one by one, to avoid boiling it over and stir well. Use hot.

I can fill four 0,5l jars with 1l of brine.

Fill the jars with brine.

I usually don't heat my sliced jars afterwards but i did this time because we have lot of molds and bacteria going around.

Boil the lids.

When heating the slices you want to heat max 10min and whole ones max 15 min or until 70°C (for both). Or look out for colour changing.

When heated remove from the pot and tighten on boiling hot lids, be careful to not burn youself. You can turn the jar upside down to check for leaks and if the lids are holding up properly. Then leave to cool down. :)
