Platte Fly Reel Full Review - Used and abused, and still ticking! - McFly Angler Product Reviews

I did an unboxing of this Platte fly reel a few months ago. I talked about how nice it looked, and how well it was crafted. However I didn't have the chance to fish with it yet. I was able to recently take it down to a fishing trip in Corpus Christi Texas, where I put the reel through the ringer. The water down in the gulf of mexico is very salty, and very tough on reels. They claim this is a fully sealed drag, but without taking the reel down to saltwater and dunking it, there would be no way to fully know. But I will tell you, after trying it out, it preformed better than I expected. I think this really is one of the best reels I have ever used for salt water.

I highly recommend purchasing it, and for such a low cost and high quality, I guaranty you will be satisfied with it.
