Antares 21E on the Bise (shaken, not stirred)

Описание к видео Antares 21E on the Bise (shaken, not stirred)

12 August 2022. This video shows an out-and-return flight of 260 km @ 129 km/h, with start line at the road intersection close to Col de Marchairuz, and turning point at Vordere Schmiedenmatt. The out leg averaged 119 km/h, whereas the return averaged 139 km/h. This flight was powered by a mix of thermodynamic breeze and a powerful Bise wind. The result was quite a lot of turbulence, which is easy to see on the video.

The Antares 20E-21 is an Antares 20E with longer wingtips (21.5m instead of 20m). When soaring the Bise-boosted thermodynamic breeze on the Jura, the extra 1.5m span offers in a significant increase in the "reference" speed from 120km/h to 140km/h.

The Antares 20E-21 is aerodynamically similar to the new Antares 21E. The new battery system of the Antares 21E will soon be available as an upgrade to Antares 20E and 23E.
