NBA 2K2 (Dreamcast)

Описание к видео NBA 2K2 (Dreamcast)

NBA 2K2 was released March of 2002 (in the EU, it was released in October of 2001 in the US). It is developed by Visual Concepts and published by Sega under the brand Sega Sports.
Worth mentioning is that Visual Concepts still develop the NBA 2K series to this day, with the latest game being NBA 2K16 for almost all major platforms (including Android and iOS).

Due to the failure of the Dreamcast (that was discontinued in March of 2001) Sega was now recovering from the loss and turned into a multi platform publishing business. This lead to NBA 2K2 being the first non-Dreamcast-exclusive title in the series and was ported to Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube.
For hard core NBA 2K series players, these 2K2 games are worth seeking out on each of the consoles, since each one of them is different.

NBA 2K2 was received by most critics with over all very positive reception. On sites like GameRankings and Metacritic we see scores well above the 90% mark for the Dreamcast version.

Of course, there was plenty of new features in NBA 2K2, including online play - on the US release - for up to eight players (with global statistics).
The new steal system lets players fill the passing lanes and attempt to steal the ball, and a revamped low-post game lets you exploit the defender.
New street courts let you hoop it up at urban playground courts, including Oakland's legendary Mosswood Park.
NBA 2K2 of course included updated rosters, arenas, team uniforms, and signature moves for the 2001-2002 season.

In our opinion, this is one of the best basketball games available on "retro consoles". It's fast, it's fun and the gameplay is just very solid. We maybe don't find the text-only variants of the game very interesting, but playing 2-on-2 in Franklin Park is just fun. And fun is what sports and sport games should be all about.
Don't miss out on this title. Just as almost every non-current sports game, it's dirt cheap and easy to come by.
