Nashandra is the original final boss in Dark Souls 2. When Scholar of the First Sin Edition came out, you fight Aldia as the final boss after Nashandra.

Nashandra was a shard of Manus, Father of the Abyss. Her boss fight is about 1/5 the difficulty of Manus so that sounds about right.
