The removal of the 214X 50/50 and the Super Ultra Spirit Bomb Oki forces you to rely on 2S and j2S to mix the defensive player effectively, with either a 50/50 high low with 2S j2S[6] with 42+ frames of blockstun or a left right mix up with 2S delay j2S with 25~26+ frames of blockstun

While it's true that Goku (GT) has been heavily nerfed in the patch 1.21, he is still a solid character with solid damage, strong EX moves and assists (A & B) that can mix you up without having to rely on Kid Buu's A assist or system mechanics, which is something that is getting more rare as the time passes due to most of these mix ups being removed throughout patches

The main reason a lot of players use him nowadays is for his A assist, but paired with the right assists Goku (GT) is still a threat and a good contender for being classified as "Top Tier", even if a decent amount of characters are considered better than him by most competitive and top players

Because he has a 2L low, he can also do every mix up in this video (except the level 3 SJ Oki due to his lack of frames advantage after his level 3):

Off 236H, the optimal confirm is 2L 5LL(4) but you can skip 2L (like i did in the video) if landing it is inconsistent for you
