Meet Vascular Surgeon Dr. Darren Schneider

Darren B. Schneider, MD, is chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Penn Medicine. His clinical areas of focus include complex aortic and iliac aneurysms, cerebrovascular disease, and limb-threatening lower extremity arterial occlusive disease. Dr. Schneider also has extensive experience in minimally invasive procedures, as he was one of the first surgeons in the country to apply advanced endovascular techniques for the treatment of carotid disease, aortic aneurysms and dissections, and peripheral artery disease.

“I was really drawn to vascular surgery. The patients and the disease process can be complex, the operations are challenging, but also really artistic and demand some fine technical finesse,” says Dr. Schneider. “And the other thing about vascular surgery is we basically treat vascular disorders all the way from the base of the skull down to the toes. So there's a lot of variety in terms of what we're dealing with and seeing.”
