Why is it so hard to understand what the Portuguese say?!

Learners of European Portuguese often complain that the Portuguese say a whole sentence as if it were one long word, and at the speed of lightning. Can you relate?

As adults, we tend to focus on the words and their meaning. Today I invite you to stop focusing on words; instead, listen to the pauses, the silence, the body movement which reveal sometimes even more than words.

All this while telling you about building a house in a country I vowed never to return to, Portugal.
