A pleasant kayaking trip on the River Derwent from Bamford To Calver- Level 1.5m

A beautiful sceneic section of river, grade 1 to 2 for the most part with a large weir that you must look at before paddling down to make sure there are no trees at the bottom before paddling but is a straight forward point and shoot at 1.5m on the river level reading

I would say below this it would be more of a scrape and not worth the paddle and at higher levels there is always the risk of trees blocking the river so paddle with care. Also worth inspecting the road bridge on both sides as tress build up on the upstream side of the bridge narrowing the route to the far river left arch to paddle throgugh.
