Vanderbilt Health: Andrea Hazlewood, Acoustic Neuroma Tumor

In retirement, Andrea enjoys staying active by going to live music events and sporting events, going on walks, and most of all, keeping up with her grandchildren.

She started experiencing balance issues and hearing loss, and later was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma tumor. Andrea turned to the experts at the Vanderbilt Skull Base Center. Dr. Kareem Tawfik and Dr. Pete Morone put her at ease during her visit. She decided to have surgery, which went smoothly. After following her recovery plan, Andrea is thrilled to get back to the things she enjoys.
