Worshiping to Queen Mahamaya - MAYA MADUWA and MEDIN PERAHARA

Mathru Divya Raja is situated in this sacred premises; this being the second building in the world so dedicated. Queen Mahamaya who gave birth to the Bodhisatwa Prince Siddhartha subsequently became Mathru Divya Raja. A stone statue of Mathru Divya Raja alias Queen Mahamaya which has been cast by using the rock found in that city is erected at Devram Vehera. The statues of the gods of Kataragama and Vishnu have been placed in the room adjacent to it. It is believed that the Deva Mandira has lot of supernatural powers. We have seen that numerous poojas being offered by all kinds of devotees such as women expecting babies and people seeking to heal the sick children.

Pannipitiye Devram Vehera is located about one and half km from the Pannipitiya junction. Devram Vehera is a unique temple in many ways. The temple grounds are beautified by numerous types of flora, various stupas and other religious buildings, similar to those found in India. A relatively new temple, its foundation was laid in August 1999. most unique feature of the temple is the fact that only one priest resides in it. Ven. Kolonnawe Shri Sumangala Thera is the sole monk at the temple, accompanied by several lay individuals who assist him in the various programmes and activities initiated by him. He took up the challenge of building the temple within a year and the entire design, accounting, supervision of the construction of the temple, were done by the Thera himself. Ven. Kolonnawe Shri Sumangala Thera has many undertakings, the most significant would probably be his venture of documenting the entire Thripitakaya on stone tablets. These have survived over thousands of years because they were done on stone.

A blow from the past
A Devol Madu Shanthikarma is a low country dance. The Yak Bera (drum) is used in this dance. A Devol Madu or the ritual structure which is an essential part of the whole process is a parallel representation of the famous Kandyan ‘Kohomba Kankariya’ environment for this dance of appeasement of the deity. this ritual which is important to culture and performing arts in Sri Lanka. This is called Devol Madu Shanthikarma and also known as Gammaduwa, is a ritual which is done By Sri lankans to praise the God to bring peace and prosperity to our country and Hoping that all hearts will be full of good by chasing the evil out of the minds. This type of dancing is really colorful and needs years of practice to perform these spiritual dancing. For this event they use Sri Lankan traditional drum "Yak beraya".

‘Maha Rawana Perahera’ to felicitate Father of the nation’ King Shree Lankeshwara Rawana' - at Sri Devram Vehera Temple on 27 March 2021 at 7.00pm.
The Annual Medin Perahera of the Devram Vehera temple in Pannipitiya will be conducted today under the patronage of the temple’s founder The Ven. Kolonnawe Siri Sumangala Thera . The cultural and religious pageant will be conducted along the streets of the area in accordance with health guidelines. It will commence at 7.00 pm today and will be conducted for three nights consecutively. After the placement of the casket containing the sacred relics on the caparisoned tusker, the street parading will commence.
The Perahera consists of three components- Medin Perahera, Theruwan Pooja Perahera, Suddodhana Perahera, Mahamaya Perahera and Maha Ravana Perahera‍. The maha perahera had been travelling the streets across Pannipitiya starting from Sri Devram Vehera. This was the eleventh occasion that this "Pannipitiya Medin Maha Perahera" was organised as an event of offering praise to the Triple Gem as a tribute offered to great kings who ruled this country with Lord Buddha's parents Mahamaya Devi and His father king Suddhodana at the helm.
Close upon 50 elephants and tuskers with an attendance of upcountry, low-country and Sabaragamuwa traditional dances were included in this perahera. The Medin Maha perahera was made colourful with dance troupes from all parts of the island representing the aforesaid traditions.

13 වන වරටත් පන්නිපිටිය මැදින් මහා පෙරහැර 2021 මාර්තු 27දා අති උත්කර්ෂවත් අයුරින් වීථි සංචාරය කරන ලදී. දෙව්රම් මහ වෙහෙර නිර්මාතෘ ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා අමරපුර සිරිසුමන විහාර පාර්ශ්වයේ මහානායක ආචාර්ය කොලොන්නාවේ සිරි සුමංගල මහා නායක ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයාණන් වහන්සේගේ සුරතින් මහනුවර ශ‍්‍රී දළදා මාළිගයේ ඇත් පංතියේ මිගාර ඇතු මත සධාතුක කරඬුව තැන්පත් කළේය.
