Meet Tianna. She was in the same congregation I was in before I was disfellowshipped. She spent most of her life as a Jehovah’s Witness along with her brother and mother. She was disfellowshipped at 18 but got reinstated at 23 at a new congregation she thought would be a great fresh start. Then one day, she just stopped being active. That was over ten years ago.

It wasn’t until the beginning of the pandemic, 2020, when she was scrolling through her news feed and ran across the news article on NPR about Australia’s child sex abuse lawsuit where the JWs had to pay millions of dollars to the victims did she begin to process the disgustingness of the religion. She was in a rage as she read it and shared the article with her mom, only to be told that it was apostate material.

Tiana talks about how her rage and anger developed into panic attacks and seizures that lasted almost two years. In this interview, she shares tips and ideas about what has helped her work through this anger and be in a much better place.
