Ultralight Backpacking Timberline Trail in the Oregon Cascade Mountains

On September 14, 2023 two friends and I set off to circumnavigate Mount Hood via the legendary Timberline Trail. This had been a bucket list item since before Covid and has been rescheduled multiple times due to wildfire, trail closures, deadfall, storms, early snow, late snow, dragons… ok, not dragons. But it seems like everything else tried to stop this from happening, until the PERFECT timing happened.

Please enjoy as we adventure along above the beautiful tree line and down into raging drainages. Join us as we venture to cross famous creeks like Newton, Elliott, Sandy, and Zig Zag! Wonder with us at the towering trees and grasping moss. For reference, we chose to go Counter-clockwise and BOY are we glad we did!
