Today, we’re joining Parker Curtis for a weekly update from the Homegrown garden greenhouse. We follow the batch of 16 plants as they’re transplanted into their final 45-gallon smart pots. A good piece of advice from one of our Cultivars with Character, Eric Brandstad, was to use the tan smart pots in hotter climates.

Want to know how to transplant your weed plants correctly? You’re in the right place!

Using organic nutrients and Parker’s fish emulsion to enrich the soil, it’s time to transplant our cannabis to their new pots.

When removing the plant from the 5-gallon pot, knock the sides to loosen the root bulb for easy removal. Gently loosen the roots to promote root growth in the larger pots.

Settle your plant in its new home and add more soil until about 2 inches from the top. For added strength and extra support for your growing plants, put a stake in the pot and secure it to the plant. Sit back and enjoy your pot’s final growing stage.
