Fender Champion 20 (Modified) Guitar Modelling Amp

PTW Amps - Here's a demo and discussion of a handy and versatile little practice amp, the Fender Champion 20. This amp landed on the bench in pieces, with all the tolex removed... the cabinet spray-painted red.

I recovered the amp in brown nubtex and made a new speaker baffle out of Baltic birch plywood to replace the particle board original. New wheat grill cloth. Added a 1/4" speaker jack to the back panel so the amp can be run either through the stock 8" speaker, or a 8-ohm extension cabinet of choice.

Don't judge this amp by what it CAN'T do (provide a fully authentic vintage tone or massive output power). What is CAN do is provide a simple and convenient modelling platform for basic guitar tones, usuable at home or (with a bigger speaker cabinet) practice or small gigs.
