In the video I am demonstrating the DW Collector's Series Finish Ply Maple Mahogany shell pack. It is available as either a five- or six-piece because you can purchase this kit with or without the matching snare drum.

Finish Ply is what DW calls the wrap on the outside of the drum and this kit comes with the Broken Glass Finish Ply. A beautiful looking champagne colored sparkle wrap that gives these drums a vintage look that really pops on stage under lights.

The sound of these drums is both vintage and modern due to the combination of North American Hard Rock Maple and African Mahogany woods. The inner and outer plies of the drums shells are the African Mahogany, which provide a nice warmth and round tone along with projection and attack. These drums would be great in the studio and in any live situation.

With this kit you get 8" x 10" and 9" x 12" rack toms, 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" floor toms, and a huge 20" x 22" kick drum. The matching snare I am plying in the video is a 6" x 14". The toms are all 9-ply, the kick drum is 10-ply, and the snare is 12-ply. With perfect bearing edges and DW's VLT shell technology, the sound from these drums makes them very inspiring to play.

Since these drum are from the Collector Series they come with DW's high end hardware. The STM tom suspension system for the rack toms lets the drums resonate freely. On all of the toms you get their graduated weight True Hoops along with DW's True Pitch tinning rods. The snare has the MAG throw off and three position Butt Plate for total ease of use, and allows you to get the snare wire tension exactly where you want it.
