Caran d'Ache 849 Rollerball Review

This is a review of the new Caran d'Ache rollerball pen ( https://amzn.to/3EJ5nfv ). It's a larger version of the famous Caran d'Ache ballpoint ( https://amzn.to/39wrw2n ) and Fix Pencil ( https://amzn.to/39ueFxt ).

The rollerball uses a Parker-style G2 refill and is very close in design to the ballpoint, but it's about 25% larger. The rollerball sells for about 2x the price of the ballpoint (around $50 vs $25). The ink feels like a liquid rollerball ink but it's too far from a hybrid ink, so it's hard to tell exactly what it is. Anyway, it's not a rollerball refill so it's a bit of a confusing offering.
