Musth is completely a natural phenomenon seen in healthy adult bull elephants. During this stage there is a rise in reproductive hormones in elephant’s body which makes them restless, aggressive, or even unpredictable. Musth typically lasts between 2-3 months and occurs in three stages – a 3-4 week pre-musth condition, a 4-5 week peak musth, and a 4-5 week post-musth condition.

In this video, Puthuppally Arjun has gone through the musth period and now he is changed to new housing.
