Veteran Cloudrest Portal Tank Guide

Welcome to my VCR Portal Tank Guide.

The portal mechanic is one of the main mechanics in the Cloudrest Trial and can be tricky to learn at first. The purpose of this guide is to go through my thought processes throughout the portal mechanic and explain what to look out for, the order of steps to the portal and some useful tips and tricks.

When doing solo portals (only 1 dd in the portal with you) and/or hardmode (extra crystals to kill), you need to do more than just hold taunt on Z'maja's Shade, you also need to help deliver some or all of the cores/orbs. I usually don't run crushing shock, so I wait until I've interrupted Z'maja before then going to deliver one. You should aim to deliver at least one core before the second jump/explode mechanic.
